Hello Everyone! I had the pleasure of meeting an athlete that exudes strength, determination and beauty. NPC bikini competitor and fitness model Ingrid Romero.
Eddie: Hello Ingrid, It is great to have you here on Muscle-4Life-Nutrition.com. Tell us a little about yourself and how you got started in modeling and the fitness world?
Ingrid: Hi Eddie! I am very outgoing and fun person, I have a lot of energy so I'm always finding fun races to keep me busy, getting outside - any new / exciting adventure. I also enjoy learning about different cultures.....I started modeling when I was 11 years old and it is my current full time job. I knew since I was a kid that I loved to be in front of the camera. When I did my first photo shoot for the agency that I was signed with was when I realized that I love to be in front of the camera.I started in the fitness world because I have a friend that told me about a fitness competition in Mexico and I decided to get ready for that competition. I started working out with a trainer and changed my eating habits. I saw really fast results and my body responded really well. That’s when I decided to enter another competition and I made the finals in my first competition and I absolutely loved the stage! Excalibur December 4 th in culver city come visit!
Eddie: I am sure you will do fantastic. Can you tell me your stats?
Ingrid: I'm 25 years old, 5'4". My weight is 120 to 124 pounds in the off-season and between 115 to 117 in-season. Body fat is 12-15% off-season and 9-10% in-season I need to stay in shape always, not only to take advantage of any modeling opportunities that I'm lucky enough to get but because it feels good to have control over my body.
Eddie: You stay in top shape all year round. You have a great looking physique. Where are you originally from? Where do you reside and train at currently?
Ingrid: I’m originally from Barcelona, Spain but I left my country when I was 17 years old, I love traveling... so far I have lived in, England, Ireland, Cancun and now in Los Angeles.
I train in a private training studio in Westlake Village with Joe an awesome trainer who has change my life!
Eddie: You have such an exotic look, if you don't mind me asking what is your ethnicity?
Ingrid: Thank you Eddie! I am Spanish, I know I don’t look Spanish because of my blue eyes and blonde hair but I’m 100% Spanish.
Eddie: Spain is a beautiful country. Can you give us an idea of how a daily workout with Ingrid would go?
Ingrid: My trainer constantly changes my workouts. We obviously do a lot of lifting in the gym, but we mix it up a lot with plyometric work and track workouts.
Eddie: Plyometrics is the way to go. What is your favorite muscle you enjoy workout and why?
Ingrid: I enjoy working my abs because I love the results you get if you stick with it. I also like to work my legs I love the feeling of weights.
Eddie: Well I can testify you have an outstanding abdominal region. Which fitness competitions have you competed in?
Ingrid: I competed in flex bikini model search in Vegas this past September. It was my first competition and a learning experience. There were more than 90 girls! and so happy I made it to the finals.
I also competed in Border States classic in San Diego this past October it was my first NPC show I was in class C and placed 1st place I also took the overall home!! I am sooo happy!!
Eddie: I am so proud of you. In my opinion you should of won the Flex Bikini Model Search here in Las Vegas.
Explain to me how it felt to get on stage at the NPC Borders States Classic competition and to hear your name "Ingrid Romero" called as winner of your class and over all winner?
Ingrid: "I couldn't believe it, I was in shock when they called my name for the first place and when I won the overall I start crying on stage and drop my sword...lol i wasn't expecting it at all and it was the best feeling ever, all my sacrifices and hard work paid off!!!:)"
Eddie: That is awesome!! Ingrid, I know you have been in a number of magazines and websites. Can you tell us where we might have seen you?
Ingrid: “Entourage” TV show I was a regular in this past season. I loved working on that show!
I have been modeling since I was a kid and it is my current full time job but my passion is fitness modeling and I work very hard for it... I would love to be in fitness magazines and websites. I have determination, motivation and focus and I won’t stop until I reach my dream.
I'm a spokes model for different brands and I do promotions, conventions and tradeshows...

Ingrid: I eat about 2000 calories five to six meals a day (about two and a half to three hours apart) consisting of lean protein such as chicken, fish, turkey, or egg whites and slow digesting carbs, such as oatmeal and sweet potatoes. I also eat lots of fresh veggies to help fill me up and add fiber so everything very clean no sugar, no salt, no dairy and nothing high in sodium.
Example of my diet:
Breakfast: ½ oatmeal and 3 egg whites
Snack: protein shake and a fruit
Lunch: 6 oz of chicken breast and sweet potato
Snack: 2 salt free rice cakes with natural peanut butter
Dinner: 2 tuna cans and asparagus
Eddie: Very nutritional! What was the hardest thing you have to deal with when it comes to your diet?
Ingrid: Giving up on caramel frapuccinos, glazed doughnuts and fettuccine Alfredo.
Eddie: I bet that must be a challenge..LOL. How important are supplements in your fitness program and which supplements do you use year round?
Ingrid: Protein powder – I use a protein powder that is high in fiber, protein and essential fats, I love that is naturally filling and helps me suppress my cravings.
Multi-vitamin — To promote over-all good health and nutrition.

Ingrid: I love listening to music while I clean, watching TV shows, hanging out with friends, getting my dance on, playing Tetris, eating good food, laughing, rollerblading, bringing my dog to the park and of course working out.
Eddie: You are a very active girl. I know you probably get asked this question a hundred times a day and every guy wants to know. Ingrid, are you married? Can you tell us about your family?
Ingrid: Hahaha, Yes I am married. My husband is my rock and my biggest supporter. His name is Joe and he is a personal trainer and of course my trainer, we make a great team together and I couldn’t do it without him!
