I would like to introduce an outstanding lady, athlete, and good friend of mine Debra D'Andrea. When it comes to bodybuilding and nutrition Debra has the experience. In the time I have worked out with Debra she has taught me so much and also has motivated me to take my fitness to the next level.
Susan: Hello Debra, tell us a little about yourself and what got you interested in the bodybuilding game?
Debra: I’ve always admired strong women and take my body to the next level
Susan: You look awesome! You are an inspiration to all women interested in future competition.
Can you tell the readers your stats and what is your strongest lifts?
Debra: Squats 375 lbs., arm curls 45 lbs. each arm, leg press 1300 lbs. , bench 230 lbs., shoulders press 240 lbs.
Susan: Wow. I have seen first hand, your amazing to train with at the gym. I met Debra here in Las Vegas, NV at Gold's Gym. Where are you originally from?
Debra: I’m from Denver, Colorado. However, I did most of my contests in Texas.
Susan: Texas has amazing bodybuilders, like yourself. What is your competitive history?
Debra:
1st place Colorado State
1st place Texas
1st place Ronnie Coleman Classic
4th place NPC Jr. Nationals
1st Southwest Texas, 1st place North Texas
Susan: With your physique I can’t imagine anything less than 1st place. Are female bodybuilders being received better these days, then say 10 years ago?
Debra: No, I don’t believe so the General Public still does not appreciate female muscle
Susan: That’s a shame the public view gives no credit to female bodybuilders. What is your training philosophy?
Debra: Being consistent in your training along with proper diet and nutrition.
Susan: I couldn’t agree more; I have been there at one point myself. Can you give us a rundown of what your current training workout look like?
Debra: I train 6 days a week 1 ½ hours per day, off on Sundays
Susan: Could you share with us your philosophy on nutrition.
Debra: 60 % protein and 40% complex Carbs. I eat 5 small meals per day, avoid sugar, salt and high fats
Susan: Best way to stay healthy. It has been an awesome experience working out with you this past week. What are the most important aspects of gaining muscle for a new female lifter who wants to compete?
Debra: 1. Being consistent in your training
2. Lifting smart with proper technique
3. Diet and supplements
Susan: I can’t agree more and I love every minute of training with you. What was the hardest thing you had to deal with when it came to your diet before a competition?
Debra: Depleting my water 2 days before the show and trying to swallow dry chicken.
Susan: OMG, that is so true; been there, done it. How important are supplements in your bodybuilding program and which supplements do you use year round?
Debra: Amino acids, whey protein, creatine, omega 3s and flaxseed.
Susan: Flaxseed is an acquired taste but if you are serious it doesn’t matter just deal with it. Can you tell us about your family? Are you married? Do you have children?
Debra: I’m single except for a darling little dog, sister and brother in Denver.
Susan: Your dog is too cute. If you could thank one person for helping you reach your fitness goals, who would it be?
Debra: Dr. Gerald Lange MD, a doctor and personal trainer in Dallas Texas.
Susan: What a deal to have the best of both worlds. Would you like to give a shout out to anyone?
Debra: Good luck to all the young ambitious bodybuilders. Hopefully they can change how the public views female muscle.
Susan: You are an encouragement for up and coming female bodybuilders, the results tell it all. Where do you see yourself in ten years from now?
Debra: Still lifting weights and doing cardio
Susan: Healthy choice, healthy body I second that emotion. Anything else you would like to add?
Debra: Thanks Susan for the interview. Also Muscle-4Life-Nutrition.com has all the supplements you need to achieve your bodybuilding goals.
Susan: Thank you Debra, for taking the time to do our Featured Athlete Interview, you are wonderful. I know you were saying earlier in the interview that people still do not accept female muscle, well I can tell you and all the other female bodybuilders out there, you have the full support of Muscle-4Life-Nutrition.com, we love female muscle ;). Debra is one of the earliest female bodybuilders in the nation to grow an enormous muscle in her body with an appropriate diet and nutrition. She usually trains hard to improve her skill in bodybuilding with her strong heart in all her life. I admire her hard work in gym and wish her best of luck in training and contest.
Robert.
