Breanne Seward BC Pro Figure Champion and Nutrabolics spokes model is a rising star in the fitness world. Now we have her here on muscle-4Life-Nutrition.com.

Eddie: Hello Breanne, I have to say, you have one of the best physiques in the Pro figure sport. Tell us all about yourself and what inspired you to become a figure pro competitor and fitness model?

Breanne: Hi Eddie, thank you for the compliment, I started competing in 2008 and have done three shows so far I did a regional show where I qualified for the Provincials which then qualified me for Nationals.

I did this all in the span of 9 months which was an amazing experience. I became interested in Figure when I first saw a competition in 2008, I knew then I wanted to start training as I thought I had potential to do well.

Eddie: That is a lot to accomplish in such a short time. Do you mind telling us your stats?

    Breanne: I am 5'5" and I weigh roughly 125lbs.

Eddie: Where do you reside and train at?

Breanne: I live in Vancouver, Canada. I train at Ultimate Fitness in Port Moody a hardcore bodybuilding style gym!

Eddie: Those are the best type of gym's to train at! How did it feel when you won your first BC Figure Championship?

Breanna: It was an amazing feeling, I tore my abdominals four weeks before so I wasn't sure how that was going to affect my physique but I came through and I was very happy all the many hours of hard work paid off.

Eddie: An abdominal tear! sounds painful, good to hear you worked through it. When did you join Team Nutrabolics and how does it feel to be part of the team?

Breanne: I joined Team Nutrabolics in 2009 a few months after I competed in my first show which qualified me for the BC Championships. I am very honored to be part of the Team Nutrabolics, after taking their supplements I went on to win the BC Championships! They are supporting my goal to become Canada's next IFBB Pro Figure Competitor which I hope to do this year at Nationals or the North American's.

Eddie: I am positive you will be Canada's next IFBB Pro Figure Competitor. Nutrabolics has some awesome supplements! What is your competitive history?

    Breanne:

  • My first competition was the Sandra Wichkam Fall Classic in 2008 where I placed 2nd.
  • My second competition was the BC Championships which I took 1st place in.
  • I then went on to do the Canadian Nationals where I came in 6th place.
  • In 9 months I went from never competing to the National stage and this year I plan on bringing the best package I can to do the stage.

Eddie: What is your training philosophy?

Breanne: I like to stay fit all year round but I tend to up my carbohydrates and fats in the off season to help me bring up my weak points. I also lower my cardio in the off season. When I am about three months out to a show I cut carbs down a lot and keep fats pretty consistent. I also add in a double cardio sessions in almost every day. I train as hard as I can up until a show to keep on as much muscle as I can, I train much like a bodybuilder would.

Eddie: Can you give us a rundown of what your current training workout and meal plan looks like?

Breanne: I train quads, shoulders, back, glutes and hamstrings. I train my back and shoulders twice weekly and legs twice weekly splitting them up between muscle groups. For meals I eat 6 times a day I incorporate lots of salmon, eggs, chicken and Isobolic shakes for protein. As for carbohydrates I really like oatmeal in the morning and yams later in the day with lunch. For fats I have almond butter, peanut butter and olive oil everyday. For me healthy fats help me put on muscle without too much extra weight gain.

Eddie: Well it is plain to see your nutrition and training methods are working out great! What was the hardest thing you had to deal with when it came to your diet?

Breanne: I love eating clean all year round. I do have my cheat meal once a week where I usually get my sweet fix like chocolate almonds so I'm pretty happy with eating clean I feel energized and satisfied.

Eddie: I agree 100%, when you eat clean you feel this enormous amount of energy. Could you share with us your philosophy on nutrition.

Breanne: For me I have tried many types of diets to see what works best I personally find that when I keep my fats in (salmon, almonds, olive oil) I keep my size on and I also tend to lean out very well. So I like to keep my carbohydrates pretty low even in the off season I only have carbohydrates in the morning and before training weights.

Eddie: How important are supplements in your bodybuilding program and which supplements do you use year round?

Breanne: I personally have found that taking supplements is crucial when you're training really hard. Your body can't always get everything it needs from food without excess weight gain. I take all Nutrabolics supplements. I write weekly blogs where I educate readers on my current diet, weight, cardio and supplement stacks. I personally love the Isobolic protein powder, Superfats, Aminocell during workouts, Vitabolic, and Hemodrene. They just came out with Hemodrene for HER which is amazing. I will be using it to get ready for the Canadians this year. You can find all Nutrabolics products here on Muscle-4Life-Nutrition.com at reasonable prices.

Eddie: So true Breanne, Nutrabolics products has a big following amongst our customers, they just can't get enough of the stuff!! If you would like to learn more about Nutrabolics products, check out their website. It Rocks! http://www.nutrabolics.com Tell us Breanne, when it comes to your physique, what is your strongest attribute and what part is a constant challenge?

Breanne: For me my strongest attribute would have to be my overall shape. As for the constant challenge like most women would be my glutes. However; I am working with a new trainer who is really helping me and I am excited to bring an even better package to the stage this summer!!

Eddie: I understand about "bringing a better package" but I am sure all the reader's would agree with me that you already have an awesome package!! I know your training is intense and your nutrition is flawless but in your opinion do your genetics play a big part in your in success?

Breanne: Good question, I think genetics is important when it comes to Figure especially because the judges are looking for symmetry, balance, and great shape. For me, I would say that as long as I train hard stick to a tailored plan God has blessed me with good genetics my body seems to change when I stick to a tailored program.

Eddie: Great to hear you give glory to God for blessing you. What advice would you give to someone who has tried a number of weight loss programs with no success?

Breanne: First go to your doctor and make sure you don't have any health problems such a hypo thyroid. Then if your healthy I suggest you check out my website www.breanneseward.com and email me: figurechic@gmail.com I am a trainer and contest coach and have been able to help people who never thought they could change their physique.

Eddie: Where and when is your next competition?

Breanne: I am doing the BC Championships again July 24th and then the Canadian Nationals in Ontario in August. I am very focused and excited!!

Eddie: I am sure you will do great! What is your favorite body part to workout and why?

Breanne: I love training shoulders, I love the way they look and how they give such a nice v-taper! Nice shoulders make your waist appear smaller as well and what girl does not like that.

Eddie: LOL..I'm sure all the ladies out there agree. Are you married? Can you tell us about your family?

Breanne: I am not married; however, I recently got engaged in Cancun which is really exciting! As for my family, they were a little skeptical at first as I was getting so lean but now that they know how much I love the sport they support me 100%. My fiance is a bodybuilder which is awesome because he understands why I have to spend so much time doing cardio and eating a certain way.

Eddie: Congratulations! Cancun, Nice!! What other sports are you interested in?

Breanne: I used to Figure Skate growing up so I love watching it. The Olympics are here in Vancouver so it's been really cool watching the Hockey as well!! Breanne

Eddie: If one of our readers was interested in becoming a bodybuilding figure competitor and already lives a healthy lifestyle, what would your advice be to her?

Breanne: Do it, live life with no regrets! If there is something you want to do don't hold back it could be the best decision you ever made it was for me!!

Eddie: Now that is some sound advice. If you could thank one person for helping you reach your fitness goals, who would it be?

Breanne: My fiance for helping me prep for my first three shows and now to my trainer Damian Segovia for helping me bring a better package to the stage this year.

Eddie: Would you like to give a shout out to anyone?

Breanne: To all my family, friends, clients and those who follow me online etc., thank you I need all the support I can get I really appreciate all the kind words!

Eddie: What are your big plans for the future?

Breanne: To become Canada's next IFBB Pro Figure Competitor and one day compete with all my idols!
