I had the pleasure of meeting Angelike Psoinos and to learn more about her competitive life. At every turn I was amazed of how much Angelike exudes athleticism but more impressive to me was her devotion to our holy father, God. Her perseverance through injuries that would end most athlete's careers made her even stronger. Looking past Angelike's beauty you get to know an extremely intelligent, determined, motivated but kind hearted person. I know you will enjoy getting to know her as much as I have.

Eddie: Hello Angelike, I have to say it is an honor to have you as Muscle-4Life-Nutrition.com's featured athlete. I noticed you use proverbs to live by, to keep you focused and driven. I really respect that and it is evident to see what a strong woman you are. So tell us Angelike what got you motivated to become a fitness model, figure pro competitor, and a 3rd degree black belt in TaeKwonDo?

Angelike: Hi Eddie, first let me thank you for having me and also I would like to say it’s an honor to be featured on your site. I appreciate anytime I have the opportunity to speak to well-respected lovers of the industry that take an interest in the hard work athletes put into fitness. Proverbs 31 is a staple in my everyday walk. I strive each day to mold into the woman that God has called me to be by applying the tools we are given naturally; i.e. strength, discipline, prowess, responsibility, accountability, love, generosity, etc. It is these very tools that motivated me to become a 3rd degree Black Belt, a silver World Medalist in the sport of TaeKwonDo, and a professional fitness competitor. Modeling is just an added opportunity that I have been blessed to be able to do. For me, personally, it is the best way to promote a healthy lifestyle and my personal mission statement on being a P31caliber woman. You can read more about that on www.p31caliber.com. More information to come very soon.

Angelike in the Ocean

Eddie: Strength, discipline, prowess, responsibility, accountability, love, generosity, etc. I wish more people would lead their lives with these values in mind. What a world it would be. By the way your website is awesome! Can you share your stats with us?

    Angelike:Height: 5’7”

Weight: Contest 127 lbs, Off Season 133 lbs

    Measurements: 34-25-35

Eddie: Where are you originally from? Where do you reside and train at currently?

Angelike: I was born and raised in Tampa, Fl and still reside in the same city. I train at Powerhouse Gym in Downtown/Channelside area. Its an amazing facility that has the best of the best in regards to features and equipment.

Eddie: You have such an exotic look, if you don't mind me asking, what is your ethnicity?

Angelike: I don’t mind at all. I am 100% Greek, every drop. Sometimes I like to call myself the 301st Spartan! ;)

Eddie: GREEK!! I knew you had some flavor lol. There are so many beautiful images of you out there, one of my favorites is the Natural Muscle Magazine cover. How did it feel to see yourself on that magazine cover?

Angelike: Thank you for the compliment! It felt amazing! It is very important to stay respectable in this industry, as sometimes being in the fitness world can draw negative attention and often time photographers or publications that take fitness to an entirely different level. I make sure that whatever shooting I do is for a reputable company, photographer, and publication. Natural Muscle has been around for nearly 15 years and has been a respectable magazine that promotes a healthy, natural lifestyle through fitness. Debbie, the publisher, is the epitome of health and strength and has done a phenomenal job at creating a publication to promote her mission while standing the test of time.

Eddie: Yes, Natural Muscle Magazines is very well known and respected in the fitness industry. Preparing for your interview I came across many of your images and I can honestly say pure class. Angelike, can you give us a peek into your daily workouts?

Angelike: Everyday is different. And of course it depends on the time of year and what events or shoots I may have coming up. Typically I break up my weight training to one or two muscle groups a day and follow it with moderate cardio. Or I will completely shock my body by doing high intensity interval training which includes sporadic and intense cardio between sets of lifting to failure. Its on those days that I have to be wheeled out of the gym. ;)

Eddie: I hear that! Those are the best workouts, when your body says's "What The Heck Are YOU Doing To Me". What does your figure pro competition history look like?

Angelike: I qualified last July for WBFF Pro during a regional competition called Fit Sciences in Atlanta, GA. I placed first in the Bikini Spokesmodel division and 2nd in the Fitness Model division. I went on to compete as a pro last September in Toronto at the WBFF World Championships. I did not place in Top 3 but the talent there was fierce! There is a substantial difference when you compete with the pros. The women were amazing and although I can hold my own, I was dealing with adrenal fatigue after four back to back shows and I just didn’t peak like I wanted to .

Eddie: Sounds brutal, Where and when is your next figure pro competition?

Angelike: It is scheduled for September of 2010 in Toronto once again.

Eddie: Does being a 3rd degree black belt in TaeKwonDo give you any advantages when competing in figure pro bodybuilding or fitness modeling?
Angelike in White Blouse and Jeans

Angelike: Absolutely! You don’t become a 3rd degree black belt over night; it takes tons of discipline, hard work, dedication, and intense training. It’s the same tools you must use in order to compete, win, and promote your lifestyle in professional bodybuilding and fitness modeling.

Eddie: You are the full package, that really goes to show you what discipline, hard work, and intense training can get you. How important are supplements in your nutrition and fitness program and which supplements do you use year round?

Angelike: Pretty important. Although, I try to get the majority of my nutrients through diet, it is nearly impossible to absorb the amount my body needs for my activity level and training regimen. My supplement staples however are; BCAA’s, L-Glutamine, whey protein, a multi-vitamin and probiotics.

Eddie: You have a well rounded supplement arsenal. What is your favorite body part to work out and why?

Angelike: Probably any upper body part. I would say my reason for that is, some women struggle to get toned arms/shoulders and a nice V-taper in their back. I have been fortunate enough to been able to accomplish that and its nice to be able to see the results of that training. Plus its fun to be able to beat a guy in push up challenges. ;)

Eddie: Yeah! not so fun for the guy lol..So Angelike talking about beating guys, are you married lol? Can you tell us about your family?

    Angelike: Not married….yet. ;)

My family is my rock, I wouldn’t be a fraction of the woman I am today without my Mother’s strength and nurturing or my Father’s wisdom and life experiences. I am a concoction of the two of them and I couldn’t be more proud of who they are and who they have raised me to be.

Angelike TaeKwondo

Eddie: That is refreshing to see the admiration you have for your parents. What do you like to do to relax? You know when it is "Angelike Time".

Angelike: Ha! Sometimes I forget what that is! But I get the most relaxation laying on the couch in my pj’s reading a book, or The Book – The Holy Bible. Every now and then I will book a massage to help me relax and to help facilitate muscle repair.

Eddie: Yes! two of my favorite things, laying on the couch and reading the bible. We all have those days were our motivational levels are not as high as we wished they would be. On days like this what do you do to still have optimal workouts?

Angelike: I have a chat with myself and suck it up! I live by knowing that Today is Tomorrow’s Yesterday. You have to make every day count and although it can get redundant, you have to power through. I remind myself of how I blew both of my ACL’s and had reconstructive surgery and was able to come back from those injuries and win a silver medal. There are no days since that challenging time that have knocked me down since. Some days, if I just need a break from the gym I will opt to go for a long, brisk walk along the water and free my mind of cluttered thoughts. This helps me recharge for a better tomorrow.

Eddie: I can see that experience of blowing both ACL's out and coming back to succeed, being a great motivator, knowing there is nothing that can keep you down! Would you like to give a shout out to anyone?

Angelike: First, I would like to give a shout out to God, for with Jesus all is possible and He is the reason I have been blessed to do what I do while inspiring others.

And second my family and closest friends. There are too many to list but they know who they are.

And finally to all the readers – thank you for taking the time to allow me to share with you a glimpse into my life. All the layers that make me who I am are a direct result from meeting so many wonderful people and taking a piece of wisdom from the experience of those little moments that add up to lifetime.

Eddie: I second the shout out to our Lord! he is the reason Muscle 4 Life Nutrition was created and we are all here. Any exciting plans for the future you would like to share with our readers?

Angelike: My plans are merely dreams of what could be; it is that passion that forms those dreams coupled with God’s plans that actually occur. All I know is the future is a gift and although I have plans for it – I would be remiss to share things that could change. All I can say is keep an eye out for me and the projects I have coming up. I mentioned P31caliber earlier – that will be my main focus and hopefully a fulfillment of my life’s mission statement.

I commend you and your company for providing a one stop shop for all their health and wellness needs, while remaining resilient in a down economy and sharing a positive message to all who follow you.
